Once upon a time…
There was a little girl who believed in fairy tales and happily ever afters.
For her prince to come.
Together they’d conquer the world.
Slaying dragons, demons, and villains.
Until her Prince Charming let his demons prevail.
She cried and begged and prayed.
She hated him.
She loved him.
She couldn’t save him.
“I love you.”
Were five words she despised more than anything.
Her fairy tale had become her worst nightmare.
She didn’t know how much more she could take.
She didn’t know love could turn into hate.
There were so many things she didn’t know.
Especially, how to tell him, “No.”

“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”
- David Bowie
This book. GAH. I don't know if my heart will ever recover!
I loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND of reading this book! I absolutely devoured the conclusion to the Life of Debauchery Duet. I've never been a huge lover of Rockstar romances but this duet has completely changed my mind!
I was so blown away by the character development in this duet, more specifically in 'Til The Last Lyric. Cash and Journey had a deep emotional connection and sexual chemistry in spades.
“An angel of light in the darkness of my life.”
Cash McGraw is the epitome of the tortured bad boy and Journey Pierce is the girl out to fix him.
Cash is the definition of troubled with an addictive personality, 12 years ago he fell off the wagon and he hasn't managed to climb back on since. His addiction has only increased over time and the rockstar lifestyle of Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll has taken its toll on the relationships he has with his family and friends.
Journey Pierce is the light in Cash's life, she brings out the best in them but when everything hits home for Cash he falls back into bad habits and it takes it's toll on Journey and her feelings for Cash. Journey is still young and impressionable, her character development in this book was written to fit in perfectly with the timing of the plot and it showed growth in her character when she started to recognise the problems within Cash.
“I yearned for him to see the truth beneath the lies he made up in his own head.”
There were moments in this book where my heart was cracking in two for both of these characters. You could understand the love between both of them but at the same time wanted to yell at them and cuss them out for the decisions they were making. These characters had my eyes welling with tears so often! At one point I had tears streaming down my face, holding in my sobs when Cash experiences a terrible loss that alters his life completely.
“Love was such a powerful emotion. I’d seen it bring people together and break them apart, all at the same time.”
This was my first duet from M. Robinson and I can't wait to go back and read more of this world! I'd love to read some of the parents stories so will be diving into her The Good Ol Boys series as soon as I can!
“I turned to take in the beauty between my sheets. There she was, curled up in my bed, sound asleep. Her blonde hair fanned out over the pillows, the lull of her breath was music to my ears. A rhythm I could write lyrics to. A sliver of light reflected across her beautiful face, accentuating her perfect, pouty lips I admired from afar. She was the definition of perfection.”

Once upon a time…
There was a girl with long golden hair who had the truest, bluest eyes that turned white when she cried.
She lived in a kingdom far, far away in a tower made of stone, but her mind was made of glass that she kept sharp as knives.
Where her memories hid behind her darkest doubts.
Her deepest thoughts.
Her diary became the only thing she could rely on.
No one saw through her looking glass.
No one cared.
No one tried.
Until the villain presented himself as the hero in her life.
He took and took and took some more.
With no regret.
With no shame.
With no apology.
The page never turned.
Their story didn’t end.
Tomorrow never came.
His life of debauchery was their journey to nowhere.
She’d give anything to go back in time.
To walk where she had walked.
To see what she had seen.
One day at a time.
Though in the end, “I love you” were just words.
That destroyed us inside.
