REVIEW: The Fall of Legend by Meghan March

November 17, 2019

We come from two different worlds.

I’m from the streets. She might as well live in an ivory tower.

I made my living with my fists. I doubt she could even throw a punch.

Our paths never should have crossed.

We never should have met.

That doesn’t change the facts.

I would sell my soul to taste those red lips.

Fight the devil himself to hear her laugh.

Burn in hell to have a single night.

Scarlett Priest shouldn’t even know men like me exist, but sometimes temptation is stronger than will.

If this is how I go down, it’ll be worth every second of the fall.

“Knowing what you feel like in my arms will haunt me for the rest of my life.”

Gah! Meghan March has outdone herself with The Fall of Legend, the Introduction to the Legend Trilogy and Gabriel Legend and Scarlett Priest. I was captivated and completely immersed in the world of Gabriel Legend.

Scarlett Priest is the daughter of a famous model and an influential businessman. She’s always lived in the spotlight and has grown accustomed to hiding her true self behind her PR self, this as well as loss have resulted in her being an incredibly private and sometimes secluded person. Scarlett’s social circle is small, she has incredible friends, employees and business associates she trusts and her father and her boyfriend. Scarlett is an intelligent and thoughtful character who I don’t think truly understands her self-worth in her private life, allowing her relationships with both her father and boyfriend to dictate some decisions.

"His thumb brushes over my skin, and I feel it. The spark. It zips through my body as chill bumps rise on my arms, across my shoulders, and down my back. It’s like touching a live wire and learning you’re immune to its deadly power. I don’t know who Legend is to everyone else, but to me, he’s a beacon, drawing me in."

Gabriel Legend has made his own family and keeps it incredibly small. He’s dark, mysterious and just the right amount of dangerous. Going from a well know cage fighter and an illegal underground club owner to a mainstream legal club owner has been more of a challenge then he thought it would be and Scarlett Priest could be the only answer to his problem.

"But, fuck, that one kiss was better than anything I’ve felt in a hell of a long time. Innocent. Sweet. But with a promise of fire. It’s that scorching silent vow that scares me the most. She’s just waiting for the right man and the right moment to realize her full potential. When she does, it’s going to be a fucking sight to see."

The tension between Legend and Scarlett was palpable through every page. Their romance was slow burning which suited both the characters and the story lines perfectly. Meghan March has pure talent for writing these types of trilogies, she has a formula that works so well with every single one she writes. She knows the perfect way to suck you into whatever world she creates and always gives you more questions than answers leaving you captivated, confused and begging for more. I’ve probably said this in every single Meghan March review I’ve written but she is the absolute QUEEN of the cliff hanger ending! She always knows the exact right moment to end a part of the story, be it the chapter or book. No one writes a cliff hanger quite like her!

The Fall of Legend was an introduction book, we were introduced to the streets of New York through Scarlett and Gabriel’s eyes, the main characters, the side characters, the crazy plot and a whole lot of angst and drama. Meghan March has been one of my go to authors for years and with every book she writes I fall in love with her words more and more, but this book was something special. The Fall of Legend was on a new level and gave me the same feelings I had when I first discovered her books, complete and utter captivation. The Fall of Legend was some OG Meghan March, tingles inducing and addictive reading. I was pulled into this world from the very first page and couldn’t get through this story fast enough. I absolutely loved devouring The Fall of Legend and I don’t know what’s coming for these two in the House of Scarlett and The Fight for Forever but I know for sure that it’s going to be damn incredible!!

"From his posture, he looks like an arrogant god, come down from Mount Olympus to survey the humans out of pure boredom. At least, until I get to his eyes. The piercing blue rakes over my body, and his nostrils flare as his chest rises and falls. Each breath seems more labored than the last."

About The Author: Meghan March

Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She's also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she's ever had.
