REVIEW: Getting Schooled By Emma Chase
Head of the class...
Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out.
The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy — he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle.
Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.
And knocks him right on his tight end zone.
Back to school...
Callie has a pretty sweet life herself...on the other side of the country. But circumstances — that she'd prefer to never speak of again — have brought her back home, helping out her parents and substitute teaching at her old high school.
Now she's facing bickering, raging hormones, constant gossip, awkward weirdness, and drama galore...and that's just the teachers.
Just like old times...
When Garrett offers to show his former high school sweetheart the secrets of his winning teacher ways, Callie jumps at the chance - and then has to stop herself from jumping him.
Good friends are all they can ever be.
Or...these teachers just might end up getting schooled — hard — by love.

Gah! This book had me swooning over Garrett!
Getting Schooled was such a sweet and heart warming listen. It's a second chance romance about Garrett Daniels and Callie Carpenter, high school sweethearts who reconnect after 10 years apart.
The story begins in the present with Callie and Garrett living separate lives in separate cities. Garrett is still in there home town living a bachelor life that he has no intention of changing. And Callie is living her dream of working in theatre.
Due to unforeseen circumstances that Callie would rather not discuss ever again, she ends up back in there home town. A couple of days into her trip home she runs in Garrett and its almost like being back in the past.
Getting Schooled gives you a glimpse of Callie and Garrett's past and the great relationship they had. I really enjoyed reading both POV's of this story. Emma Chase writes a great male POV!
I love a great second chance romance, its one of my favourite troupes and Getting Schooled didn't disappoint me at all. It wasn't your typical hate to love or angsty second chance but it was a beautiful story full of the past, the present and the future. I loved all characters in this small town. It was a feel good romance that had me swooning, laughing and blushing.
The narrators were Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber who are my absolute favourite narrators. They both bring such great emotion to the characters they're reading and capture the story so well!
