REVIEW: Real Dirty by Meghan March
I have everything a guy could want—a new single burning up the charts, more money than a simple country boy could spend, and a woman I’m planning to marry.
Until she doesn’t show up for my proposal.
The life I thought was so perfect, isn’t.
The guy who thought he had everything, doesn’t.
I’ve got my heart on lockdown, but life sends me straight into the path of a mouthy bartender who puts me in my place.
Now the only place I want to put her is under me.
I thought I was done with love, but maybe I’m just getting started.
"Boone Thrasher is dangerous... in the best possible way."
I LOVE everything Meghan March writes! From the first page I'm always sucked into a crazy world with sassy heroines and smoking hot heroes! And Real Dirty was no different.
Our hero in Real Dirty is Boone Thrasher, Country Singing Superstar, who we learnt a little bit about in the Real Duet. Boone is in love with his Olds 442 and his girlfriend, an up and coming pop singer and he's all keen to propose to her on one of the biggest stages in the world. Until she doesn't show up....
Enter Ripley, a sassy and smart bartender who takes no shit and gives it twice as good!
Boone Thrasher was not the superstar I thought he was going to be. He was rough, gruff and one hell of an Alpha Male! Protective, sexy and dirty. Real Dirty! There was a lot more depth to his character then I was expecting and he was truly sweet and caring when he spoke about his family. He's growth as a character from the first chapter to the end of Book 1 is so interesting to read.
Ripley is one tough lady. She's had a pretty difficult up bringing and is stuck in a situation that she's not sure how to get out of. Ripley is dedicated and loyal to a fault. She's surrounded by good people and toxic people who both effect her in different ways.
Ripley's biggest problem? She has rules. Rules that Boone doesn't understand. But
rules are made to be broken!
“You offering, sugar?” I feel her out with the question, and her temper surfaces again. “Don’t call me sugar just because you don’t remember my name.”
She’s still got me in the same category of every asshole who’s come into this bar with a record under his belt.
“I call you sugar because even though you’ve got that sharp tongue, I expect you’d be sweet as hell once I got you under me.”
I’m halfway expecting a knee to the balls like the guy at the White Horse, but I get the tart side of the tongue I just mentioned.
“You practice your lines in the mirror, Thrasher?”
“Only the good ones, Ripley.” I put the emphasis on her name, making damn sure she can’t miss it."
I loved the chemistry between Ripley and Boone, they brought out the best in each other and there sexual tension was combustible! There's a tonne of crazy and secondary characters that you can't help but either love them like crazy or hate them like crazy! Each Character is so unique!
Meghan March can write the hell out of a sexy, quick and fun rom com! I'm always so enthralled by every word she writes, she captures my attention from the first page and keeps it for every page after it. And holy crap does she know how to leave you hanging for more!
Boone and Ripley's story continues in Real Sexy and I'm desperate to read more!
Book 2 of the Real Dirty Duet is coming soon!
In Nashville, country stars are a dime a dozen.
I swore I’d never get caught up with one, but Boone Thrasher made a liar out of me.
I said I’d never put my heart on the line, but he didn’t ask before he stole it.
Now we’re facing my worst fears, and we'll see if this country boy is tough enough to see it through.
Girls like me don’t get happily ever afters… but maybe he’ll prove that wrong too.
